We offer flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, drum, and piano lessons. Students of all ages are welcome. Lessons are available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level students. Our studio is located at 5658 Main Street, Suite 102, in Downtown Sylvania.

Since opening our doors, we’ve been committed to helping students pursue what they love. Notes and Rhythm with Josey and Cliff provides a unique and highly personalized method of learning, creating an environment to nurture, educate and encourage creative individuals to achieve the highest level of success.

Josey
My name is Josey Lawson. I currently reside in Dearborn, Michigan with my husband, 2 daughters, and my 3 fur babies. I have been teaching piano in Sylvania and Toledo for Pro Music from the time I was 13 until Cliff's retirement in 2021. I have nearly 25 years of experience teaching piano.
My preferred style is classical piano, but over the years I have developed skills in other styles as well. In 2010 I spent the summer playing in a Motown band in Detroit. I was privileged to work alongside a producer who worked with Earth Wind and Fire. Additionally, I have played for several weddings and a music program that was held at the Toledo Museum of Art.
Teaching has been a longtime passion of mine. I feel my job is not just to help a student learn to play music. My aim is to develop a Love for learning music. Music is my gift to share.
Cliff
My name is Clifford and as the former owner of Pro Music, I have been providing Sylvania and the surrounding areas with music for over 42 years.
I grew up in a household of musicians, and took a special liking to the drums, which I played in a band in my early days. When I opened Pro Music, I never knew how many hearts would be touched by the education they would receive. I continue to teach a variety of instruments. I also offer repairs to several types of instruments, just on a smaller scale.
It is my privilege to be able to continue to share music in the community and I look forward to the new experiences that lay ahead in preparing students for band camp, concert band, competition, and beyond.

Policies
Payments
Payments can be monthly or weekly. Payments by check, cash, or card are accepted.
Missed Lessons (Student or Teacher)
We kindly ask for a 2 hour notice if you can not make it to your scheduled lesson. We will credit one lesson cancellation per month, but any additional cancellations within the month will be charged. We will make every effort to reschedule the lesson so you may benefit.
If we are unable to make it to your lesson due to illness or a snow emergency, you may schedule a make up lesson, or we will credit that lesson towards next month’s payment.
During summer break, if you choose to pause lessons, you are not guaranteed that time in the fall when you return. However, we can hold your time for a monthly fee of $45.00, automatically billed through Square.
Change of Instructors
If the student or we feel that we are not a good fit, we will provide you with a referral to follow up with a different qualified instructor.
Location
Lessons must be given at our studio at 5658 Main St, Suite 102. We do not travel to teach in-home.

Repairs
Whether simple maintenance — adjusting the action on your guitar, changing the tubes on your amp, repadding your saxophone — or more serious repairs are required, bring in your gear to have it looked at by Cliff.
